Chapter 591

Simon scrambled out of the taxi, hastily paying the fare for Evelyn.

When he turned around, Alexander had already pulled Evelyn into his Porsche and sped away.

Left standing in the cold night air, Simon felt completely powerless.

The taxi driver tipped his hat with an amused grin. "Need another ride, sir?"

Simon could only exhale in defeat.

Inside the Porsche, Alexander secured Evelyn's seatbelt with careful hands.

The engine roared as he accelerated down the empty streets.

Evelyn sat in silence, struggling to control her emotions.

Her traitorous stomach growled loudly in the quiet car.

Alexander glanced at her, his expression unreadable.

He'd intended to drive straight home, but at the last moment swerved toward a small bistro. The place was nearly empty, staff wiping down tables.

"Sorry, we're closed," a waitress called out. "Kitchen's shut for the night."

Alexander checked his watch - almost 10:30 pm.

Evelyn turned to leave, but Alexander caught her wrist.

Dressed in his impeccable suit, he exuded effortless authority.

"Do you have any ingredients left?" he asked the waitress.

The young woman flushed under his intense gaze. "Some basics, yes."

"Would you allow us to use your kitchen?" His voice was calm but persuasive.

The waitress hesitated, clearly torn. "That's against policy..."

"My wife is expecting," Alexander explained gently. "She hasn't eaten all evening and your menu looked perfect for her cravings."

Biting her lip, the waitress finally nodded. "Okay, but clean up after yourselves. And this never happened."

"Thank you," Alexander said with genuine warmth.

The waitress disabled the security cameras and led them to the kitchen.

Alexander pulled out a chair for Evelyn. "Wait here."

Through the glass partition, Evelyn watched in shock as Alexander tied on an apron and began cooking with surprising skill.

In under fifteen minutes, he emerged with a steaming plate of fettuccine that smelled divine.

Evelyn felt her anger beginning to waver.

She propped her chin on her hands, fighting a smile. How dare one meal weaken her resolve?

"Eat," Alexander said, handing her a sanitized fork. "I'll make more if you're still hungry."

Evelyn remained silent. She took a bite and nearly moaned at the rich flavors.

She wanted to demand why he'd been with Isabella tonight, but speaking first felt like surrender.

The homemade sauce was far better than anything she'd expected.

Her hunger returned with vengeance.

Noticing Alexander wasn't eating, she frowned. "Aren't you having any?"

Alexander lowered his eyes. "I'm too furious to eat."
