Chapter 564

Dominic remained silent as Evelyn finished bandaging his shoulder wound. With practiced hands, she began the acupuncture treatment on his legs.

Her movements were precise and gentle. Dominic relaxed into the leather seat, surrendering to her skilled ministrations.

An hour later, the session concluded.

Beads of sweat dotted Evelyn's forehead from the intense concentration required.

"When's the next session?" Dominic inquired.

"Not too soon. At least three days between treatments."

His brow furrowed. "Three days? That means I won't see you until then?"

Propping his chin on one hand, Dominic clearly disliked this arrangement. "Surely I need treatment tomorrow?"

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Our relationship isn't exactly the type that requires daily meetings, is it?"

A slow, knowing smile spread across Dominic's face. "Daily meetings? Now there's an interesting suggestion."

Evelyn found herself momentarily speechless.

"Speaking of which," Dominic continued, "did Isabella cause you any trouble?"

"None worth mentioning," Evelyn replied.

"If she does, just say the word. I'll take care of her."

Evelyn tilted her head curiously. "Isn't Isabella your fiancée?"

Dominic's eyebrows shot up. "Why? Jealous that I'm engaged?"

An uncomfortable silence fell.

Evelyn's expression stiffened. Why would she be jealous? More importantly, why was Dominic siding with her over his own fiancée?

Just then, Alexander's call interrupted them.

Having woken to find Evelyn absent, he was checking on her whereabouts.

Evelyn instinctively glanced at Dominic before answering, "I just picked up some baby supplies. Taking them to Claire now."

"Alright. I'll meet you at the hospital later."

She'd never intended to stay with Dominic long anyway.

Hanging up, she opened the car door. "Get that shoulder stitched properly. I'm leaving."

Dominic's gaze darkened as he watched her retreating figure.

Only when Evelyn was out of sight did Dominic run his tongue along his teeth in frustration.

"She answers Alexander's call in front of me? Makes plans right here? Impressive."

His irritation flared visibly.

Nathaniel, seated in the driver's position, felt an involuntary shiver at the sudden chill emanating from behind him.

Dominic pulled out his phone and dialed.

"Dress up. I'm picking you up in an hour," he commanded.

Isabella sounded confused. "Why?"

"Just do it," Dominic snapped before ending the call.

Biting her lip, Isabella stood before her mirror, applying makeup and selecting a daring cocktail dress.

If Dominic wanted a date, why the secrecy? After yesterday's humiliation, a night out might lift her spirits anyway.

She had no real interest in Dominic, but as a Powell heir, he was worth stringing along for amusement.

When she emerged, Dominic's car waited as promised.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at Eclipse Lounge.

Isabella exited first, expecting Dominic to follow.

Instead, his phone rang. "Go ahead inside. I'll join you shortly."

Assuming he'd follow after his call, Isabella entered alone.

The club pulsed with neon lights and deafening bass. Cigarette smoke hung thick in the air.

Dressed to impress in her revealing outfit, Isabella immediately drew male attention in the male-dominated space. Several men approached within moments.
