Chapter 589

Evelyn had always been consumed by jealousy because of Alexander, and it felt utterly unfair.

She wanted Alexander to taste the same bitterness she was drowning in right now.

Outside the door, Alexander was completely unprepared for the sight of Evelyn and Dominic locked in an intimate embrace.

A thousand questions exploded in his mind simultaneously.

"How long has Evelyn known Dominic? When did they even meet?"

"And what the hell is Dominic doing here in the first place?"

Behind him, Isabella stood frozen, her mouth slightly agape in shock.

Her thoughts raced. "This can't be happening. Why is Evelyn wrapped around my fiancé like this?"

"There must be something going on between them!"

Isabella, always the dramatic one, exclaimed loudly, "Well... This explains why you've both been so secretive!"

Alexander noticed Evelyn was wearing Dominic's jacket.

Isabella's words hit Alexander like a sledgehammer to the chest.

"They're hiding in this abandoned music hall where conveniently no one can reach them. Alexander, you've been played!"

Her shrill voice echoed through the empty corridor, ensuring everyone within earshot heard her accusation.

Alexander's expression darkened dangerously.

Dominic, however, seemed to be enjoying every second of this.

A smug smirk played on his lips. He didn't look the least bit guilty about being "caught" - if anything, he appeared thrilled.

Especially when he saw Alexander's stormy expression, Dominic's male ego practically glowed with satisfaction.

Dominic chuckled. "Talk about bad timing. Couldn't you two have waited five minutes?"

Alexander's jaw clenched visibly. His glare could have melted steel as he extended his hand toward Evelyn. "Evelyn, come here."

Evelyn stepped away from Dominic's embrace.

She had expected Alexander to explode with rage at the scene.

Any man would have reacted violently to seeing his woman in another man's arms.

But to her shock, he controlled his temper, swallowing his fury rather than making a scene.

Evelyn closed her eyes briefly, steeled to continue the charade. Yet seeing Alexander restrain himself so completely made her hesitate.

She took one step toward Alexander, but before she could move further, Dominic grabbed her wrist.

Dominic said, "Why should you go just because he says so? We were having a perfectly lovely evening."

He placed a possessive hand on her shoulder, giving her a look dripping with fake tenderness. His gaze deliberately stoked the flames.

"Let the baby take my last name," he added casually, "I'd be honored to be its father."

The words detonated like a grenade. Alexander's face turned murderous.

Without hesitation, he lunged forward and threw a punch at Dominic's face.

Dominic dodged at the last second, but it was a feint.

Alexander's real punch came from his other hand, connecting solidly with Dominic's jaw.

Blood immediately trickled from Dominic's split lip.

Dominic, who had never been struck before, looked genuinely shocked. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he licked the blood from his lip. His fists clenched, ready to retaliate. "You'll regret that."

Evelyn gasped as the situation spiraled out of control.

Seeing the two men about to brawl, she rushed between them. "Stop this! Right now!"

Her sudden movement made both men hesitate, neither wanting to accidentally hurt her.

Evelyn didn't wait for another word. She turned and walked briskly out of the room.
