Chapter 579

Dominic let out a dark chuckle. "My legs don't work, Sebastian. Surely you've noticed that by now?"

Sebastian's eyes raked over Dominic's motionless limbs before narrowing suspiciously. "Are they really paralyzed, or is this just another one of your schemes to avoid helping the Powell family?"

At this accusation, Reginald's expression turned stormy. "Dominic, so all this time, your so-called disability was just an act?"

Dominic remained silent.

Nathaniel's face flushed with anger. "Mr. Powell's condition is medically verified! The hospital records prove it!"

Sebastian scoffed. "And hospital records can't be forged? Wasn't it through deception and manipulation that the Powells gained their status in the first place?" His gaze turned icy. "Besides, since when does a mere servant interrupt family discussions?"

Reginald's voice turned glacial. "Dominic, after everything the Powell family has done for you, this is how you repay us? Your brothers have sacrificed everything for this family. And you? You just take and take. Now you're faking paralysis too? Get up this instant!"

As Reginald reached for him, Dominic suddenly hurled the glass in front of him onto the marble floor.

The explosive shattering sound echoed through the room, sending shards scattering in all directions.

Dominic smiled faintly, but it was a smile that chilled the blood. "Demanding a paralyzed man to stand? Isn't that asking too much?"

Though his voice was quiet, it carried an undeniable weight that pressed down on everyone present. "Have you said your piece?" His piercing gaze swept across both men. "Then get out."

The room plunged into tense silence. Both men were momentarily stunned by Dominic's commanding presence.

Several heartbeats passed before Sebastian found his voice again.

"Dominic, how dare you speak to Father like that? Yes, you handled the Walker situation well, but that doesn't give you the right to act superior. I can tolerate your arrogance, but ordering Father to leave? Have you no respect?"

Dominic's eyes turned to ice. His next words cut through the air like a blade. "I won't repeat myself. Leave."

The final word came out as a thunderous command that seemed to vibrate through the very walls. The chandelier above them trembled slightly.

Reginald glared at Dominic, visibly trembling with suppressed rage, but ultimately turned on his heel and stormed out.

The silence that followed was deafening. Sebastian took two deliberate steps closer to Dominic.

His smile was unsettling. "Dominic, believe it or not, I swear I wasn't the one who pulled the trigger that night. You're my brother. Why would I ever hurt you?"

Dominic met his gaze unflinchingly. "Sebastian, don't worry. If it wasn't you, I won't falsely accuse you. But if it was..." His eyes darkened dangerously. "You'll pay dearly."

The intensity of Dominic's stare forced Sebastian to look away. Without another word, he turned and exited.

The moment the door closed, Nathaniel rushed to lock it.

Still fuming, Nathaniel couldn't contain his outrage. "Mr. Reginald is completely unreasonable! After you risked your life infiltrating the Walker estate that night, this is how he treats you? That wound on your stomach proves your sacrifice, yet he lets Sebastian mock you like that? They're in this together! It's outrageous!"

Dominic remained eerily calm. Compared to Nathaniel's fury, he seemed completely detached, as if none of this concerned him.

The bathroom door creaked open, and Evelyn stepped out.

Nathaniel suddenly remembered her presence and immediately fell silent. With an awkward nod, he exited to stand guard outside.

The room filled with prolonged silence, broken only by Evelyn's steady gaze studying Dominic's face.
