Chapter 30

Friday Afternoon

"Madam, Master Dominic will be returning tonight. You should come back too!"

Evelyn had been staying at her mother's place ever since Dominic forced her to terminate the pregnancy.

"Fine. It's time to put an end to this." Evelyn hung up and headed straight to Dominic's estate.

Evening fell at seven.

Dominic's private jet touched down at the airport.

He stepped into a sleek black Rolls-Royce, flanked by his security detail.

The moment he settled into the seat, he froze.

Bianca was already inside.

"Dominic, do you like my new look?" She twirled a strand of her freshly cut bob, her pink tulle dress rustling as she leaned closer with a coy smile.

She had planned this surprise carefully.

Dominic's gaze darkened instantly.

The air in the car turned glacial.

Bianca's confidence wavered. Her fingers tightened around the fabric of her dress.

"What's wrong? Don't you like it? Is the dress too much—?" Her voice cracked.

Dominic backhanded her without warning.

The force sent her crashing against the door.

"Scissors." His voice was lethally calm.

His bodyguards outside didn't hesitate—they sprinted to the nearest store.

Bianca trembled, tasting copper on her lips. Her cheek burned.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go.

In ten years, he had never laid a hand on her.

Evelyn Thorne.

This was her doing.

"Dominic, please! Evelyn told me to dress like this! She said it would—"

"Cut it off." Dominic didn't let her finish. "All of it."

The bodyguards returned. They dragged Bianca out, scissors gleaming under the streetlights.

The car door shut.

"Drive."

Evelyn waited in the dimly lit parlor, her suitcase already packed.

Dinner had come and gone.

Now, she just needed to face him.

At eight, headlights cut through the foggy autumn night.

Mrs. Wilkins rushed to greet him.

Evelyn's pulse spiked.

The wheelchair rolled in silently.

Dominic was dressed head to toe in black, his expression unreadable.

"Dominic Blackwood." She steadied her voice. "When are we finalizing the divorce?"

His head tilted slightly.

"Divorce?"
