Chapter 256

"Sorry, the number you have dialed cannot be reached, please try again later."

Evelyn had turned off her phone completely.

Dominic's expression darkened. Though they were physically separated by just a door, the distance between them felt immeasurable.

Both Lily and Henry were home when Evelyn mentioned Dominic's arrival. The moment Henry heard, he dashed to his room to grab his drone.

"Henry! What are you doing?" Lily's eyes widened in confusion as she watched her brother.

"I'm driving him away!"

"Oh! Can I help?" Lily clapped her hands excitedly.

Henry handed her a flexible hose connected to the indoor faucet.

Dominic stood resolutely outside the mansion gates, his determination to see Evelyn today unshaken.

Twenty minutes later, a sleek drone descended from the second-floor balcony.

When the bodyguard spotted the aircraft, his brows furrowed. "What the hell is that?"

This wasn't any ordinary drone - it carried a hose attachment and was flying straight toward them.

Dominic looked up just as the colorful drone hovered overhead.

A sharp beep sounded before water began spraying downward.

"Shit!" The bodyguard immediately tried pulling Dominic toward the car. "That spiteful Evelyn! How dare she-"

Dominic shook him off. "This isn't her doing. She'd never resort to something so juvenile."

Though he couldn't see the operator, Dominic knew immediately - this had Henry written all over it. If the boy could hack complex systems, piloting a drone would be child's play.

The drone mirrored Dominic's movements, dousing him relentlessly until his designer suit clung to his frame.

"I'm going in there!" the bodyguard growled.

"Stand down!" Dominic commanded.

Barging in would only worsen Clara's opinion of him, and he couldn't risk further alienating Evelyn's family.

"That little bastard Henry! I'll teach him a lesson next time!" The bodyguard rummaged frantically for an umbrella, coming up empty-handed.

From the first-floor window, Clara witnessed the scene unfolding outside and rushed upstairs.

"Henry! Bring that drone back immediately!"

Henry's small fingers tightened around the controller.

Lily giggled, holding the hose. "Grandma, we're chasing away the bad man!"

Clara shut off the water supply and fixed Henry with a stern look. "If you don't recall that drone right now, I'm telling your mother."

Though Clara wanted Dominic gone, she couldn't condone such behavior from the children.

With a frustrated sigh, Henry guided the drone home while Clara peered through the balcony doors.

Dominic stood dripping, his bodyguard patting him down with tissues.

Clara's lips pressed into a thin line. Should she apologize for the children's actions? The dilemma twisted her stomach.
